The 6-in-1 Solar Kit is an amazing way to educate children (and adults!) on how solar power works. It’s a great brain stimulation for the mechanically minded.
This kit comes with plastic pieces that make a solar airboat, windmill, puppy, car, plane and revolving chopper propeller all in (Do-It-Yourself) DIY forms recommended for 10 years and up. But, bright children who are younger will be able to do at least some bit of building on their own or at least the attempt may bring them a sense of accomplishment and independence.
The model pieces snap together easily and the directions are straightforward. The motor was made from a simple gear and the solar panel is pretty sturdy to hold itself firmly in place. Small wires connect the solar panel the motor, that are completely harmless and can be easily tucked in behind the plastic pieces. The best part is, once made, you can break it down and re-assemble it all over again in a different form.
The Solar Kit provides an educational and fun experience for the entire family. It's a cool way to understand and create, hand's on, your own eco-friendly self sustainable gadget.
How does it work?
The 6-in-1 Solar Kit uses a single solar cell to power a small motor at up to 12000 rpm. The different assemblies then use different propellers to move.
What does it teach?
This kit teaches about renewable solar energy and basic mechanical assembly. You can even apply principles of air displacement and motion.
